CNC routed the stair
wired and programmed the motor
seat switch and moisture sensor calibrated
I realised i had to rework the chair pulley mechanism
so for now i programmed the motor to react the way i want
Motor moves 20 steps anticlockwise pauses for 10 seconds and repeats
This is a proxy to say it takes 20 turns to open
The cushion serves as a kill switch that stops the motion
this is a safety proxy to prevent movement if someone sits
the moisture reader serves as a proxy for rain
when triggered it reverses the current steps taken
eg. if the motor moves 13 steps and the seat gets wet
it moves back 13 steps - a proxy to stay closed if it rains.
the seat switch is a master override function
eg. if the chair is open and someone sits in the rain
it will not close
Did not work as planned. need to revise
made a slideing mechanism here that pulls the string
front ends helps close the chair, back end opens it
CNC routed the wood pieces at Gund using the Zünd
piece was a scrap sheet i found
part of my narrative might be to have more efficient design with minimal waste parts
unfortunately wood back piece broke
think it was too thick, Nathan gave me future suggestions
for now i used chipboard as a proxy
next steps i might consider a rolling pulley sysem
Maybe the bands work like a blind roller
when fully unrolled the chair is open
when fully rolled its closed
this would be the reverse for the back
i also realized i need to make custom pulleys
current ones in shop do not have enough width
needs to be reworked
Workout mechanics and setup for the chair
make proxy code for the motor
