Idea 1 : Playful avillion

I'm concurrently taking a class where I get to design a small pedestrian bridge, pavillion or small landscape structure. My first idea is to link these two class and attempt to create an operable component of that reacts to an external element. This can be wind, heat, motion or sound - still not 100% sure. It could be a playground pavillion with parts that open up if kids are yelling near by; to maybe just learning to make a simple dynamic sun shader. This is the more ambitious idea and will depend on what type or kind of sensors I can build.

Idea 2 : Anti Cat Device

My friend has a cat - Olive - that likes to knock items off her table to wake her up when he is hungry. He starts almost consistently at 6:30 beginning with the alarm clock. My second idea is to create a device that avoids Olive's paw. It could move in a different direction and release a small treat to distract him. Since he almost always starts at 6:30, it could be programmed to release more treats at the begining and less closer to when she wakes up at 7:00. Alternatively it could spray water at him, but that's too mean...or as a last resort if its not balanced. Could also double as a play toy

Idea 3 : Pixel Drawing

A drawing machine that turns a vector or raster image into something on paper - basicaly a quasi printer. I would like to start this by figuring out how to make it with a pen or paper. But I love pixel art as a form of representation. And think it would be fun to make the pen a pixel stamp and not a line? Greyscale images for now but maybe I the stamp could be adjustable. A smaller stamp would maybe create a more recognizable image, and a larger one would be more abstract. Could be a fun homemade signature printer.
